PSILOCYBIN Therapy healing retreat

Psilocybin-assisted therapy can provide an accelerated path to deep healing, new perspectives, connectedness, and feelings of well-being. Recent research at John Hopkins Institute names mushrooms as one of the most effective psychedelics for the treatment of conditions such as depression, various forms of anxiety, PTSD, and addiction. Psilocybin can catalyze enormous positive and lasting changes, as well as help to unlock creative and spiritual potential.

The brain is a complex organ. Changing the way your mind compartmentalizes trauma and intrusive thoughts is difficult to do. Conventional therapies don’t always produce the results you hoped for, and sometimes even the more progressive modalities can be met with resistance and prevent you from getting into the subconscious layers where the roots of imbalance, stuckness, or pain reside.

I offer transformative, personalized retreats to facilitate safe experiences with this sacred medicine that can truly accelerate your growth and healing. Retreats are held either at my home or in the comfort of your own home or vacation rental. Retreats are customized, and range in length depending on your comfort level, intentions, and needs.

Ready to dive deep?

Retreats are only available to my current clients, or to those who have been referred by their therapist or healing practitioner. This is to ensure safety, readiness, and capacity as well as requiring the support necessary to truly digest, integrate, and embody such a transformational experience.

While everyone’s experience is dramatically different, many clients report some or all of the following:

  • A renewed sense of purpose and connection to life

  • A deeper understanding of how your life experiences have shaped you

  • An upgraded perspective on why you are stuck and inspiration on how to move forward

  • A more expanded sense of well-being and trust in yourself

  • A deepening (or emergence) of spiritual connection

FAQs: PSILOCYBIN

  • Mushrooms are not a magic bullet. I agree with the assessment of the founder of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Research (MAPS), Rick Doblin, when he said he takes issue with “the myth of psychedelics as magic bullets, the ingestion of which will automatically confer wisdom and create lasting change after just one or even a few experiences.” And continued, “Personality change may be made more likely after a cathartic and insightful experience, but only sustained hard work after [the medicine] has worn off will serve to anchor and solidify any movement toward healing and behavior change”. In other words, integration, and self work after the experience, are the keys to lasting change.

  • The medicine can bring up the whole spectrum of human emotions - from joy and bliss to fear and anger. It is possible that hidden or repressed emotions can emerge during a session, and the process of confronting those difficult emotions can be challenging. But I encourage my clients to embrace every emotion, as that is the path to freeing them from your system so that they are no longer controlling you. Moving towards, rather than suppressing, is the path to healing and is ultimately empowering. The way out is through.

  • The ceremonies that I facilitate will comport with other ceremonial traditions surrounding the ingestion of natural entheogens/medicines, and will be structured in such a way as to allow the participant with the optimal opportunity for healing and for interaction with the spiritual realm. I do not bring any agenda, other than to hold a safe and sacred space for your inner wisdom to come forward. I do not fix or “heal” during ceremony (or any other time), as the responsibility to heal ultimately lies with the individual. I am there as a witness and support if you need it. I walk beside you, as opposed to leading you. Before and after the ceremony, I provide therapeutic coaching and all of the other modalities and tools I am trained in to help you untangle, understand, process, integrate and embody the experience.

  • Psilocybin mushrooms are perhaps the most ancient and sacred sacrament on planet earth. There is evidence that psilocybin mushrooms have been consumed by man for hundreds of thousands of years, with use spanning the entire globe. These “magic mushrooms” have had tremendous ceremonial and medicinal importance in ancient cultures. I believe that they were used to communicate with spiritual realms. And recent clinical studies support what ancient cultures and indigenous peoples already understood: they also have the power to help you heal.

  • There are incredibly reputable organizations performing great research on the benefits of psilocybin. It’s important to do your research rather than simply listening to people’s experiences, as everyone is different. Here are some organizations who are dedicated to researching the effects of psychedelic/psychoactive compounds.

Psilocybin Research and Potential

Roland Griffiths, Ph.D., presented a TEDMED talk in 2015 about the therapeutic and consciousness potential of psilocybin. Research to date demonstrate safety of psilocybin in regulated spaces facilitated by medical team over a series of guided sessions; and as a part of cognitive behavioral therapy, psilocybin helps in reducing anxiety in some cancer patients, and in facilitating smoking cessation for some.

"67% OF THE PATIENTS INVOLVED…SAID THAT IT WAS AMONG THE TOP FIVE MOST MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCES IN THEIR LIVES."

The Neuroscience of Psychedelic Drugs, Music and Nostalgia

With controlled psychedelic substances, there is a potential to alter the entire brain for a period of time and thus provide relief from negative emotions that cloud the mind. Capturing this controlled relief, Dr Frederick Barrett's research suggests that, under the right conditions, psychedelics may have the potential to treat a wide range of mood and substance disorders.
